            9:00 AM – 10:30 AM Eastern U.S. Time (ET)

CEER has teamed up with international partners, including other regional regulatory associations ERRA and NARUC, in a webinar series that examines the regulatory implications of the COVID-19 global pandemic on the energy sector.

This series will discuss the practical tariff treatments that regulators can consider as the impacts of the pandemic continue to play out.

In Europe and select U.S. states where utilities are unbundled, suppliers may face significant constraints due to lack of payments or delayed payments. During our 10th June webinar on regulatory tariffs considerations due to the pandemic, experts will discuss:

• What are the potential impacts on cost recovery plans?
• As a growing number of customers default on their electricity/gas bills, what happens if bad debts are transferred from the supplier to the utilities and tensions regarding payment transfers increase?
• What is the appropriate role of the regulator in ensuring the financial viability of electricity firms in competitive markets?

Moderator:
Dr. Hisham Choueiki, NARUC

Speakers:
Mr. Brock Bierman, Assistant Administrator, Bureau for Europe and Eurasia, USAID
Dr Annegret Groebel, President, CEER
Dr Attila Nyikos, Vice Chairman, ERRA
