The European gas markets have experienced some emerging issues that challenge the gas market fundamentals. In addition, with all the Network Codes in Gas now adopted, the next phases of implementation, monitoring and modification will come to the fore. Energy regulators have to deal with the challenges related to the implementation of Network Codes in Gas in order to meet the European expectation for a quick and efficient harmonisation of the European Gas Markets. This tailored-made 2-day CEER training programme is designed for experts from National Regulatory Authorities with previous experience in gas market regulation who would like to update their knowledge and expertise in order to deal with the continuing and emerging challenges in the European gas markets. Other experts from European Institutions (ACER, European Commission) are also invited to attend.

This one-day course is designed for NRA staff who already have some experience in REMIT implementation and market monitoring but want to enhance their expertise and knowledge in order to carry out the new demanding tasks required under REMIT. The programme will cover the recent update on REMIT implementation at the European level and the data reporting requirements according to REMIT. It will address the interactions between REMIT and financial market legislation, including market abuse behaviours, anti-trust enforcement and practical surveillance and investigation cases carried out by national regulators.

The Council of European Energy Regulators (CEER) in collaboration with the European Federation of Energy Traders (EFET) is delighted to organise the first unique training on “Introduction to Trading in European Wholesale Energy Markets” in the CEER’s office on 7 November 2017. This course is ideally suited for staff of National Regulatory Authorities (NRAs) but representatives from other organisations may be allowed to join. The course seeks to enhance the operational understanding and knowledge for NRA staff on energy trading in order to carry out the monitoring activities of the wholesale energy markets at national and European level. The course will comprehensively explain the key aspects of trading in the wholesale power and gas markets. The lecturers of this course include senior and high-level experts from EFET and their members.
