C11-PC-62 CEER Draft advice on the take-off of a demand response electricity market with smart meters

10/05/2011 - 21/06/2011

Background

C11-PC-62 CEER Draft advice on the take-off of a demand response electricity market with smart meters

CEER believes that through offers reflecting actual consumption patterns and a meter equipped with an open gateway - interface with the home - the customer will be able to participate in demand response. Home automation could be a means to accomplish this. To enable these services, there need to be clearly defined roles and responsibilities for the stakeholders in the electricity market.

This public consultation on the Draft Advice on the take-off of a demand response electricity market with smart meters seeks stakeholder views in order to provide input on upcoming CEER recommendations that aim to enhance the implementation of demand response with household customers and small and medium sized businesses.

Stakeholders are invited to participate in the public consultation via a dedicated online questionnaire in this section of the CEER website. A list of all parties that have indicated an interest in participating in the consultation can be found on the tab "accredited logins".

CEER invites all interested parties to provide comments to the consultation document - and in particular to the list of specific questions set out in the consultation document.

Any comments should be received by 21 June 2011 through the dedicated online questionnaire.

Following the public consultation period, CEER will publish all responses received from stakeholders that are not marked as confidential. Respondents requesting confidentiality should submit those confidential aspects of their response by marking them as "confidential" in the dedicated online questionnaire.

Any questions on the consultation document and the online consultation should in the first instance be directed to:
