CEER Webinar on Enabling Biomethane Integration in Europe’s Gas Markets

CEER held a webinar presenting its new report “NRAs’ Reflections on Enabling the Injection and Access to the Wholesale Market of Biomethane”

The report explores how EU Member States are implementing the relevant provisions of the Gas Decarbonisation Package, with a focus on:

• Access to gas grids for biomethane producers
• Connection fees and cost-sharing mechanisms
• Tariff discounts
• Trading arrangements, including Guarantees of Origin and Proofs of Sustainability

The webinar provided stakeholders with insights from CEER, the European Commission (DG ENER), and GD4S on how to create a coherent and harmonised regulatory framework for biomethane across Europe.
