EU4Energy at the Europe Days in the Eastern Partnership Countries

As part of the Europe Day celebrations organised across the Eastern Partnership region, EU4Energy Phase III participated in events held in Armenia and the Republic of Moldova to increase the visibility of the initiative and engage directly with citizens, particularly younger audiences.

The activities focused on promoting awareness of energy-saving practices, renewable energy solutions and the environmental impact of inefficient energy consumption. Visitors to the EU4Energy stand had the opportunity to take part in interactive educational activities designed to encourage learning through engagement and participation. Educational materials and games helped children better understand the importance of sustainable energy use and climate-conscious behaviour in everyday life.

By participating in Europe Day celebrations, EU4Energy strengthened its outreach and contributed to raising public awareness of the benefits of the clean energy transition.

High-Level Electricity Market Roundtable

On 12 May 2026, the Council of European Energy Regulators (CEER), within the framework of the EU4Energy Phase III project, organised a High-Level Electricity Market Roundtable in Armenia.

The event brought together Armenian energy sector stakeholders, regulatory authorities, policymakers and EU experts to discuss the ongoing development of Armenia’s electricity market and the priorities of the EU4Energy Phase III programme.

Discussions focused on key regulatory and market development issues, including:

– electricity market liberalisation;
– development of secondary legislation under the Electricity Law;
– strengthening regulatory practices;
– improving the investment climate in the energy sector.

The roundtable served as an important platform for dialogue and exchange of expertise, supporting Armenia’s efforts to advance energy market reforms in line with European best practices and enhance regional energy cooperation.

Lecture at the Polytechnic University of Armenia

EU4Energy Phase III places a strong emphasis on raising awareness among younger generations and strengthening cooperation with academic institutions across the Eastern Partnership region.

On 11 May 2026, an EU4Energy expert delivered a guest lecture for students at the National Polytechnic University of Armenia. The lecture focused on the role of energy storage technologies and explored the topic: Energy Storage: How Does It Change the Energy System?

The session introduced students to the growing importance of energy storage in modern power systems, including its role in supporting renewable energy integration, improving grid flexibility and enhancing energy security. The lecture also provided an opportunity for students to engage directly with energy experts and discuss current developments shaping the future of the energy sector.

Through such educational activities, EU4Energy continues to promote knowledge-sharing, encourage youth engagement and support the development of future energy professionals in the region.

Regional Training on Unlocking Flexibility for a Clean Energy Future 

On 9-10 June the Training Academy of the Council of European Energy Regulators (CEER), within the framework of the EU4Energy Phase III Project on Promoting the Clean Energy Transition and Connectivity in the Eastern Partnership countries, organised a two-day regional training “Unlocking Flexibility for a Clean Energy Future” on 9–10 June 2026 in Brussels, Belgium. 

The event brought together representatives of the line ministries and energy regulatory authorities from the Eastern Partnership countries, as well as energy experts from the European Union, to exchange experiences and explore innovative regulatory and market solutions that enable greater system flexibility in increasingly decarbonised power systems.

South Caucasus Energy Connectivity 1st Meeting 

The Council of European Energy Regulators (CEER), within the framework of the EU-funded EU4Energy Phase III project, convened the first South Caucasus Energy Connectivity Meeting on 18-19 June in Brussels, Belgium bringing together representatives from the countries of the South Caucasus and Türkiye to advance regional energy cooperation, cross-border links and clean energy transition priorities under the European Union’s Connectivity Agenda. The initiative also supports the broader objective of strengthening energy security and resilience in the region through enhanced cooperation and connectivity. 

The meeting marked a historic milestone as the first-ever technical-level regional energy dialogue uniting all participating countries to address shared energy challenges and opportunities in the South Caucasus region and Türkiye. 

EU4Energy at the Baku Summer Energy School organised by the ADA University

The EU4Energy Phase III contributed to the 20th edition of the Baku Summer Energy School 2026, organised by ADA University in Baku, Azerbaijan. 

On 8 July, an EU4Energy expert shared the European experience and perspectives on recent developments in European energy policy, particularly in the context of oil and gas markets, energy security, diversification, and the current challenges facing the European energy sector. 

BSES is an international executive-level programme that annually brings together representatives from government institutions, academia, international organisations, and  energy companies to discuss global and regional energy developments, energy security, markets, geopolitics, energy transition, and infrastructure-related issues.  

Through its participation in such initiatives, EU4Energy continues to pay particular attention to raising awareness on energy-related topics and strengthening cooperation with academia.

High-Level Conference on Connecting Energy Futures: Interconnectors and Renewable Energy Integration under the Connectivity Agenda 

The Council of European Energy Regulators (CEER), within the framework of the EU-funded EU4Energy Phase III project, organised the High-Level Conference on Connecting Energy Futures: Interconnectors and Renewable Energy Integration under the Connectivity Agenda on 14-15 July in Athens, Greece, bringing together representatives of ministries, regulatory authorities, EU institutions and international organisations from the European Union and Eastern Partnership countries. 

Hosted by the Regulatory Authority for Energy, Waste and Water of Greece (RAAEY), the conference focused on the strategic importance of cross-border interconnectors for energy security, regional cooperation, electricity market integration and renewable energy deployment across the Eastern Partnership region. 

The conference showcased Greece’s experience in developing electricity and gas interconnector projects and integrating renewable energy into national and regional energy systems. Participants also looked at EU regulatory and policy frameworks, including network codes, infrastructure planning mechanisms and Projects of Energy Community Interest (PECI).

EU4Energy Expert Mission in Yerevan, Armenia

The Council of European Energy Regulators (CEER), under the EU4Energy Phase III Project organised a two-day expert mission on Armenia’s Electricity Market Reform and Energy Storage Regulation on 21–22 July 2026 in Yerevan. This mission formed part of EU4Energy’s continued support to Armenia in advancing its electricity market reform and strengthening the country’s regulatory framework. It brought together representatives of the Public Services Regulatory Commission of the Republic of Armenia (PSRC) and EU regulatory experts for in-depth technical exchanges on legislative development, electricity market reform and the integration of energy storage into the national regulatory framework.
