WFER IX
The World Forum on Energy Regulation (WFER) is the leading international conference on energy regulation, held every three years. It brings together key players in the energy industry, high-level decision makers, academics, and regulators from around the world to engage in strategic discussions on regulatory frameworks.
Organised under the International Confederation of Energy Regulators (ICER), which serves as a voluntary platform for cooperation among energy regulators. The WFER works to strengthen the design and implementation of public policies in the energy sector through the exchange of information and best practices.
On 21 September, ahead of WFER IX, an international Training Day will take place. Organised by the Florence School of Regulation in cooperation with CEER and the National Association of Regulatory Utility Commissioners (NARUC), the event will bring together regulators and energy professionals from around the world to exchange knowledge, expertise and regulatory experience.
The Training Day will open with a plenary session on the independence and accountability of energy regulators, followed by three thematic slots featuring parallel training modules.
Together with speakers from EU4Energy Phase III, CEER experts will contribute to several modules covering:
- Effective regulatory tools and governance;
- Empowering youth and women in the energy transition;
- Regional energy market integration;
- Consumer protection; and
- Decarbonisation of energy demand.
9th World Forum on Energy Regulation (WFER IX) will take place in Tbilisi, Georgia, on 21–24 September 2026.
