Final Conference of EU4Energy Phase II: Celebrating Achievements and Building the Future of Armenia’s Energy Sector

The Council of European Energy Regulators (CEER) is pleased to announce that the Final Conference of the EU4Energy Phase II Programme aimed at promoting the clean energy transition in the Eastern Partnership countries took place on 7 April 2025, in Yerevan, the Republic of Armenia. The event brought together key stakeholders from the country’s energy sector to reflect on the achievements and lessons learned from the EU4Energy project while exploring future opportunities.

Vassilis Maragos, the Ambassador of the European Union Delegation (EUD) to the Republic of Armenia, emphasised in his address that the European Union is committed to promoting energy security, advancing the clean energy transition, and enhancing regional cooperation, all of which are crucial for economic resilience and long-term prosperity.

“We are inspired to host the Final Conference of the EU4Energy Project Phase II here in Yerevan not only to reflect on the significant achievements of the project, but also to chart the course ahead as we continue our joint efforts towards a clean, secure, and sustainable energy future for Armenia and the Eastern Partnership region", said Chairman of the Public Services Regulatory Commission, Mr. Mesrop Mesropyan in his welcoming address.

The event aimed to encourage an environment of open dialogue by bringing together policymakers, experts, academia, and organisations focused on creating a cleaner and more sustainable energy future.

The conference was organised in the framework of the EU4Energy Programme Phase II – Promoting the Clean Energy Transition in the Eastern Partnership Countries, which runs until August 31, 2025. The programme aims to contribute to the development of sound legislative and regulatory frameworks for energy, to support the region’s transition to clean energy and the liberalisation of its energy markets.

The EU4Energy initiative is funded by the European Union with a total budget of €8.5 million and is jointly implemented by CEER, the International Energy Agency (IEA) and the Energy Community Secretariat (EnCS).
