Women in Energy Awayday (Breakfast + Training)

On Thursday, 30 April 2026, CEER hosted its third Women in Energy Awayday at the CEER Secretariat in Brussels.

This year’s event placed a strong emphasis on networking, exchange of experiences and community-building, alongside discussions on gender equality in the energy sector. The programme combined reflections on recent survey findings with interactive sessions, including a roundtable discussion, speed networking and contributions from key stakeholders.

The event also benefited from the active participation of the European Commission, notably through contributions from DG ENER. A video message from Ditte Juul Jørgensen, Director-General of DG ENER, opened the event, followed by further insights on ongoing gender equality actions presented by Commission representatives.

Participants also explored practical aspects of leadership and inclusion through sessions such as personal energy management and a dedicated training on navigating organisations and driving gender balance.

Bringing together professionals from across the energy sector, the Awayday provided a valuable platform to connect, share perspectives and strengthen collaboration within the Women in Energy community.

A key message emerged throughout the day: advancing gender equality requires collective effort, inclusive leadership and continued engagement across the sector.

As CEER’s President, Annegret Groebel, highlighted: “Let us carry today’s momentum forward, stay connected, and continue to support one another.”
